Current Book:

After reading the entire Game of Thrones series (that has been published so far... waiting on those last two books!), I went through a serious book funk. I finally found the book Divergent by Veronica Roth and am now reading the second in the series, Insurgent.

The books are dystopian novels about a society that is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue in order to keep peace within the whole society. All sixteen-year-olds must select a faction to live in for the rest of their lives. The initiates of each faction must go through extreme physical tests of endurance and psychological simulations. The main character, Tris, learns a secret about herself that can mean death if in the wrong hands. As conflict begins to escalate between the factions, she discovers that her secret may help save her friends and family.

Current Music:

Despite listening to I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons hundreds of times, I'm still obsessed.

Current Nail Color:

A really ugly orange sparkle. It's only glitter in a clear coat, and didn't paint on very well. Also not easy to get off.

Current Drink:

Mostly water, but I also really like Kevita probiotic coconut drinks and Kombucha. I especially enjoy drinking those after a long run.

Current Food:

I go through phases with breakfasts and right now I'm on a roll with a sweet breakfast scramble. It sounds a little weird, but it's delicious! Mix together:

• 1/2 cup mashed pumpkin
• 1 mashed banana
• 1 egg
• 1/3 cup egg whites (or you could use two whole eggs instead)
• generous sprinkle of cinnamon

Cook together in a saucepan until mixture firms up. I eat it with a spoonful of sunflower seed butter. Yum!

Current Favorite Show:

Besides The Chew, which I DVR and then watch while I cook dinner almost every day, I am really enjoying this season of Scandal.

Current Bane of My Existence:

When something is supposed to come in the mail and doesn't show up. I had a majorly two-month-long frustrating experience with a pair of boots that I was supposed to get and never did. Finally got a new pair in a store yesterday!

Current Celebrity Crush:
Joe Manganiello. I developed a total crush when he was on True Blood. I still haven't seen Magic Mike... maybe I should just stay away from it. 

Current Indulgence:

I made a batch of cookies last night that Brendan deemed "unreasonably good". They're almost like brownie cookies with white chocolate chips in them...mmmm...

Current Outfit:

Lululemon track pants, a tank, and a sweatshirt I got last summer in Maui 

Current Excitement:

Booked a last minute trip to Chicago (on my birthday weekend!) to hang out with two of my bridesmaids from college! Haven't been together with the two of them since Brendan and I met four years ago!
