My addiction

If you know me at all, you know that I love shoes.  My senior year of college at my sorority's senior send-off ceremony, my parents wrote a piece about my love for shoes growing up as the speech my little read about me.  Last year for Christmas my mom got me the 2011 Shoe Calendar, and this year Brendan's mom got me the 2012 version.  It's kind of sick how much happiness I get from a new pair of shoes.  I definitely lean towards the super high, flashy heels and am always on the hunt for something unique.  With so many shoes, it is fun trying to find the next best thing to add to the collection.  I like finding new outfits to pair with the shoes and am always looking for an excuse to wear a fun pair.  I even got called out at my last doctor's appointment: "You must really love shoes if you wore that pair to a doctor's appointment in the middle of the day!".  'Tis true.

I have found, though, that sky-high heels aren't always practical.  Shocker, I know.  While some heels are more comfortable than others, I have had to supplement my collection with some new pairs of flats, so that I can walk more than a few blocks without hobbling and clinging to my boyfriend for support or going temporarily barefoot (neither of those has ever happened...).  Anything other than heels are near-impossible for me to buy.  They don't make as much sense to me for some reason, whether it is flats or boots.  I see them on other people and love the way they look, but never end up liking the look on myself.

So here's what I'm going to do here.  This blog is about me, right?  And since shoes are a huge part of what make me me, I'm going to start doing regular posts on my shoes.  This will serve several purposes:

  1. Showcase some fun shoes and outfits that have gone with them
  2. Find new ways to wear shoes that I'm not as comfortable with
  3. Dig down deep into my shoe buckets to find pairs that have gotten buried.  Out of sight, out of mind, unfortunately!

Very sad
If I had it my way, this would be my shoe situation:

But since it isn't, I'll work my way through shoe-by-shoe giving you new posts and myself new outfits!
